The Nevaton MC416 consists of an electroacoustical transformer and a preamplifier.
The first unit is an elastically suspended symmetrical pressure- gradien-type double diaphragm reciever. The two- 33mm diaphragms symmetric pressure gradient sensors are made of ultra-thin and gold-sputtered Poly-Ethylene- Tereftalate-film. All components of the transducer have passed a special artificial ageing process to guarantee the stability of their parameters. The transducer is mounted inside the microphone body on a damper, essentially lowering eventual vibrational noise level.
The second unit is a pre-amplifier, which is built to the class-A transformerless standard. All used input transistors pass a special selection process to guarantee minimal self- noise. The amplifier can transmit high soundpressure-levels without any distortion and has a very low self-noise.
The Nevaton MC416 operates on 48V phantom power. A gold-plated XLR-connector is used as an output-connector.
The microphone`s body is made of brass with a dark-grey non-reflective paint finish on an epoxy base. This makes it inherently immune to mechanical and atmospheric influences. A three-layer metallic grill effectively protects the transducers from mechanical impacts and influences.
